VERSE 1
If only love
Should be so easy
And we could wave goodbye
Without the tears
I'll miss your touch
But hold these feelings
Through distant roads and lives
That cross the years
CHORUS
I'd love to love again
Feel so close … now and then
Deep in my heart - Love from the past
Won't ever let me go
I'd love to love again
In dreams it never, ever ends
But when I start - To walk that path
It's overgrown with love I've known
VERSE 2
Tears in your eyes
Reflect my sorrow
But sharing half a heart
Breaks lives in two
One more goodbye
We'll face tomorrow
Making a brand new start
Find someone new
CHORUS
I'd love to love again
Feel so close… Be so close now and then
Deep in my heart - Love from the past
Won't ever let me go
I'd love to love again
In dreams it never, ever ends
But when I start - To walk that path
It leads to 'just good friends'
I still belong – to days long gone
And I wish I lived then…
…Oh, I’d have her love again
Feel so close; be so close now as then
Deep in my heart - Love from the past
Won't ever let me go
Oh, I'd have her love again
In dreams her love never, ever ends
But when I start -To walk that path
It's choked with the love I've known
Nothing can grow
Flowers on stone
I'll never know... love again

Notes:
Love To Love Again is a hugely romantic ballad, but one based on the ‘first cut is the deepest’ viewpoint and the singer’s inability to ever recapture the intensity of his feelings for a former partner. The song starts as he is saying goodbye to yet another relationship that has failed to capture his heart fully.
The song ends with him wishing he could return to his first love (but the second from last line hints at the reason that’s impossible). The final line is his acceptance that he’ll never feel (true) love again.
